I recently saw the new Ghostbusters (afterlife) movie at the movie theaters...saw it on the "T-Rex" screen (which is our local version of an IMAX theatre, bigger screen, nicer seats, sound that blows your eardrums out)...
Thought that it was pretty solid...storyline goes something like this...mom of 2 kids, gets evicted from her apartment right around the time that she finds out that the dad that abandoned her decades ago died and left her a house in the middle of nowhere...
They "move" there, to find out that her dad was a crazy hermit, and the house and the property are totally useless...
the younger grand-daughter is a science nerd, and finds an underground lab that has all sorts of scientific equipment in it...she starts to explore the lab, and it's all ghostbuster type of stuff...
the grandson is a typical teenager, hates that they moved there and is struggling to fit in with the other teens in this redneckish town...but eventually finds an old ambulance rusting away in an old barn...decides to drive it thru the fields...apparently it's the old ghostbuster ambulance...
I won't give too much of the details away...other than their grandfather, was Egon Spangler (Harold Ramis)...and his ghost helps them with what else but....you guessed it...
Eventually, the 3 remaining ghostbusters eventually make an appearance in the movie...
SPOILER ALERT!!!! When the movie gets over, it goes to the initial credits... and then another scene comes back on the movie... and then the credits come back and finish... and then there is another scene once the final credits are completed

I will admit to being one of the masses in that I watch Yellowstone. I enjoy it but will fully admit it has some soap opera like qualities.
I have also been watching American Rust. Solid series about a murder in a small Pennsylvania town and how the police chief is trying to handle it in a town where everyone knows each other. It's set in a struggling small town. Some good acting. Jeff Daniels plays the chief. So far it's still in the first season.
My son really emjoys the Ghostbusters movies so I'll get him to check out the latest. Thanks.
I have Netflix and Prime subscriptions but it's getting harder and harder to find TV worth watching.

Yellowstone apparently has a massive following even though I don't know anyone who watches it. CMF - you ever watch the Rodgers show Kim's Convenience? Haven't watched it recently, but my wife and I made it through catching up on all seasons of that Looking at my PLEX history, Here's a history of my last 30 days Love Life (light hearted - better than I thought). Anna Kendrik is a bit of a guilty pleasure as I don't think I am supposed to like her stuff. Die Hard (movie - greatest xmas movie of all time) Hawkeye Love in the Afternoon (Movie) Come from Away (Movie) Planes Trains and Automobiles (Movie) Welcome to Earth (Do not recommend) Hanna Ordinary Joe (not great - likely going to stop watching) Dan Browns The Lost Symbol (finished it, but don't recommend) Somebody feed Phil (its ok, missing good food pron tv) Doctor Strange (Movie) The Shrink Next Door (Recommend - very interesting) Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Movie)

I have watched some episodes of Kim's Convenience but I am not a loyal watcher. Mrs. CMF is though. It is a funny show and there are sections of Toronto that have stores like that are located in ethic neighbourhoods of the city, so to speak. Schitt's Creek and Kim's Convenience are two of the best recent Canadian comedies.
Yellowstone does have a huge following and while I am not a Costner fan, he is good in it. Having said that, I have always liked Western movies and books so that is the aspect that appeals to me.
I don't knwo what PLEX is and I don't know a lot of your list. Of course, I have seen Die Hard, Planes Trains and Automobiles (the great John Candy), and Doctor Strange. I watched Nomadland this past weekend. Not an uplifting story but I found it interesting to see how some are forced to live the RV lifestyle due to economic conditions. I always recently watched No Time to Die. I am a Daniel Craig as Bond fan.

Schitts Creek was gold, though we're only 2-3 season in, slowly plowing through, though haven't seen an episode in about 6 months. Maybe I'll pick that one back up over the holiday Plex is a viewer for locally stored content. I push all my content with exception of sports through it, so it just happened to be easy to generate a full watched list. Nomadland was good. I like Costner, but for some reason, the show has never drawn me in. We saw No Time To Die about a month ago. It was good. My wife and I talked about him as a bond just the other day. Our conclusion is his movies are better as "Cinema Art", but not a great "Bond" so really depended on what you were looking for. He's a bit to cold for the cocky chauvinistic role, just simply missing the swagger.

I agree on the Craig as Bond. He doesn't have the cocky swagger but then again, times have changed and the sexual assault and harrassment that was acceptable in earlier Bond movies is now taboo.
I think what I like is that he's more a badass than other Bonds. He's more of a killer and there are a lot less of the cheesey lines. Again, maybe a product of the changing times. The villains aren't quite as cartoonish now either.

I saw first season of each DC Titans and Doom Patrol. I couldn't get into the darker approach they took as compared to the Marvel side. Maybe it's the same thing with Bonds. I like the lighter hearted cheesy cartoonish one liners Marvel did that better than DC for my tastes.

I know this thread has been even quieter than the baseball-related threads since before the holidays but I'll add to it. My wife and I are waiting for a ton of series to restart:
Killing Eve (my personal favorite) The Crown Cobra Kai Stranger Things The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Ted Lasso (of course) The Mandalorian (that's just me)
but we did watch a few that I've really liked:
The Shrink Next Door (I second Fang's thought that it's interesting. On a side note I found out my therapist sat next to the victim a few years ago and didn't know who he was until afterward) After Life (if you like Ricky Gervais you'll love this one) The French Dispatch (the most Wes Anderson movie ever)
We also really enjoyed No Time To Die. I feel like the Bond movies start to all coalesce a little and I forget the details but this one could have a little more staying power. The villains weren't as strong as usual but the action scenes and plot was pretty good. Plus the scenery (landscape and female) was as good as ever.
It's funny how our viewing habits have centered around series, like most other people now. I'm a huge classic movie fan and I watch a lot of TCM. I caught The French Connection for probably the 10th time recently and happened on Targets the other day. I'm saying the director's cut of Lawrence of Arabia, one of my favorite movies, for a day when I'm alone and there's no sports.

A day that there's no sports... Sounds like June - September at this pace...
I've seen most of that list, though I haven't watched the most recent season of Cobra Kai (and heard it was a huge step down from 1 & 2). No clue about Killing Eve (but that's a STRONG endoresement). The rest of those series are solid gold.

No real obscure stuff there I know but TV is really amazing these days. Full disclosure, we took a break from Cobra Kai after season 2 because we were bored but when we picked it back up we loved it again, watching seasons 3 and 4 within a week. I laugh at Johnny at least 2-3 times every episode. A couple of others that are a little more obscure and good: 14 Peaks Bad Sport (series) Voyeur All of those were pretty engrossing and cover a wide variety. Now if I could only start to chip away at the queue instead of constantly adding to it...

Peacemaker good so far? I have it on queue, but haven't watched yet.
I'm currently reading Wheel of Time because I wanted to read a few books before watching the TV show, and now I'm through book 4 (Game of Throne sized books). I've since watched their season 1 which I thought was just bad television, but the reading forward still eats away at what had been my tv time..

On the TV front as well, we had been BIG fans of How I Met Your Mother, so the wife and I have given a try to the first 2 episodes of spin off 20 years later of How I Met Your Father. I reserve judgement after a hit or miss first 2 eposides.
This weekend we also watched the new Anthony Bourdain documentary (Roadrunner) followed by a couple episodes of A Cooks Tour, which we had never seen before. Recommend Roadrunner for any Bourdain fans out there. Cooks Tour was fine, be like listening to an artist's deep tracks, he was clearly finding his Mojo and really hit his best groove IMO for No Reservations.
