Interesting to hear Todd Zeile in an SNY discussion with Jim Duquette about the hiring of Buck, mention that Stroman was the biggest negative voice in the Mets dugout.

Watching a cbssports clip of Buck, and the first thing that they showed was Buck in an Orioles uniform going all Earl Weaver in Angel Hernandez's face at home plate.

The above youtube video is a mlb network profile on buck's career from several years back while he was the manager of the Orioles. Pretty insightful to what we're in for

If you ever followed his twitter feed, this isn't at all surprising. It's the Stroman show. Total "me" guy. They put on a good faith, but that locker room all remembered Stroman leaving them high and dry in 2020 and blaming it on COVID fears (which was a transparent lie on day 1).

Well it looks like the coaching staff is almost set now. Still need a bench coach and some assistant coaches, but we now have 1b, 3b, hitting and pitching coaches.

I have to say that the coaching hires so far are very intriguing.
I absolutely LOVE hiring Cora. That one is a great move. For those worried about Buck's age, he is a manager in training and could be the one to seamlessly transition to if/when the time comes.
Chavez is another topic all together. I love the fact that we poached someone from the Yankees who they wanted. But I don't know how good a hitting coach he will be. Not like he was a .300 hitter. He spoke about average not being the focus, OBP was more important. While I agree to a point, his career OBP was not exactly Barry Bonds (.342). I'm not sure that he can teach what he was not exemplary at performing.
We'll see.
Still, overall, the signings both player, front office, and dugout, show that the organization is working on changing the culture from top to bottom. I am 100% in favor of that.

Hopefully Cora has a better grasp on when to flash stop and go signs at third... the resume reads well, though I'll honestly say I don't know much about him (or any of the coaches) beyond that.

I don't know what kind of hitting coach Chavez is, but on-field performance doesn't correlate much with coaching ability. If you look at some of the greatest coaches ever, many of them were far from successful during their careers.
