Look at those lineups side by side and it's clear why we are so far behind a team like the Dodgers.

Look at those lineups side by side and it's clear why we are so far behind a team like the Dodgers. you mean that their lineup isn't full of one dimensional players (that can only take pitches, swing for the long ball or hit grounders into the shift...and can't run the bases, cover any ground in the field or throw accurately)? I still can't believe that the Nats traded Trea Turner as a throw-in in the Max Scherzer rental trade...Turner is by far a more complete player than ANYONE in the entire Mets organization

Agree with you on the Turner comment. In what world is he ever a throw-in for a trade? That's twice he has been traded in his career. What am I missing that makes teams want to get rid of him?
Love watching him play - so fast, so smooth, so fundamentally sound, always under control. The fast twitch muscles he has is like watching a thoroughbred. He has the type of game and body that will age well. His slide into home a few weeks back was about one of the coolest things I have seen on a field. If I was a GM this offseason I think he'd be my SS target.
And not to beat a dead horse, but how do you have a hitting philosophy of taking pitches to try and work a count, and then add the single most undisciplined hitter in baseball at the deadline?? That trade still makes my head hurt.
Watching the Dodgers take a walk, hit a double, then get consecutive grounders to the right side to drive in two runs reinforces how poor our approach and execution at the plate has been.

McNeil is completely lost at the plate. Looks like a lost season for him, and others.

Lineups posted and once again a head scratcher.
Why is Dom not in the lineup today? He does well against lefties, and even better against Price in particular.

Well we had our 1/2 inning of offense, guess that it's now time for the guys to mail it in for the next 8 innings
