The only acceptable outcome for this series is a sweep.
Washington is a team looking to intentionally lose. We are in a tailspin, with 13 games against the two best teams in the league staring us straight in the face. Anything less, and we are in terrible shape going forward with collapse a serious concern.
We. Have. To. Win.

Well a sweep is preferable but given the vagaries of baseball I'll take a win. You HAVE to win it though. West coast games are always a nightmare no matter the quality of the teams, but this year it'll be even harder as we all know. If you want to make the playoffs this is it. At the very least after a day off you have to reset and start hitting.

A series loss will essentially be us raising a white flag saying we don't have what it takes. A sweep gives us momentum heading to the west coast home and away games. But as a sweep is a hard thing to do in baseball, I'll be happy with a win to at least clears the air a little bit and take some of that pressure off the team's shoulders.

That's the problem. We can't afford to lose winnable games, and unfortunately we can't lose a game to a team that has punted the season.
Not even one.

hitting a theme from the chat - maybe Rojas should declare this game a "must win"

Lineups posted, this is a must win game. If Luis says it this time, he is 100% correct.

I've updated the time for game one, assuming the lineups and starters will be the same for game one but will edit any changes.

Like him or not, Stroman has been dependable and VERY good this year.
