the Mariners have made at least 3 deals in the past 24 hours or so:
Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to trade All-Star outfielder Randy Arozarena to the Seattle Mariners in a blockbuster deal days before Major League Baseball's trade deadline. The Rays are getting outfielder Aidan Smith, right-handed pitcher Brody Hopkins, and a player to be named later in the deal for Arozarena.
The Seattle Mariners are acquiring right-handed reliever Yimi Garcia from the Toronto Blue Jays, sources tell ESPN.
The main return for the Blue Jays: outfield prospect Jonatan Clase.
Garcia was one of the best RP available this deadline. Seattle remaining busy.
The Mets are acquiring RHP Ryne Stanek from the Mariners in exchange for Rhylan Thomas, reports SNY's Andy Martino
Stanek has a 4.38 ERA over 39.0 IP this season.

We just got Ryne Stanek from the Mariners for Rylan Thomas.
Good move, Thomas is a bit old for AA (24), and Stanek is a solid reliever.

and with us losing at least 2 pitchers to the IL in the last several days, we need MLB capable arms...and maybe someone in the OF depth that has a little more production that DJ and Gamel...2 "veteran" lefty corner OFers that don't even seem to hit at least RHP decently (speaking of which, what is Voglebach doing nowadays?)

It's down to the last day or so, it's going to be interesting to see what direction they go. The additional reliever is almost definite, but the starter question looms.

We essentially did. Between Peterson, Megill and Blackburn, we have a large crop of former 1st failing to reach their potential.
Hopefully the offense continues to rake, because that is the only way we keep winning.
