Yeah after I posted this I saw that they were not going to activate him until Wednesday. I was busy barbequing dinner so didn't have the chance to correct myself and then forgot.

Yeah hitting 8th tonight playing 3B. I'm tempering expectations but the timing seems to be right and it does give some additional excitement. Of course there's nothing like your first major league game in Atlanta in August in the middle of a pennant race.

So cool to see the kid homer in his first AB. I know he'll only be up until Escobar and Guillorme are back but maybe he can give the team a lift as a LH hitter.

If so, if the kid is doing relatively fine, keep him in the lineup as much as possible afterwards...Escobar has primarily only been good vs RHP, and Guillorme is more of a utility guy that is being overused than a starting third baseman...and by the time both come back, I would imagine that both McNeil and Lindor could use a day off ocassionally (at least from the field)...both Escobar and of course Guillorme can play 3b, 2b, ss |

Welcome back Brett Baty! www.espn.com/video/clip?id=36209277Trying to figure out who they cut to make room and I'm not sure, so many routes. 1) Butto - unless they're moving to a 6 man rotation though, I doubt this. That said, they do need arms for the BP as their starters are making Buck burn through BP innings, so I think they'll still get rid of him for another BP arm. 2) Escobar - lots of predictions for this straight 1-1 swap. I don't see them doing this though. Not yet at least. Maybe next time for Vientos. 3) Guillorme - this one makes sense to me. He has options, so it maintains your flexibility. Escobar can be the back up utility guy for the time being. Leaves you somewhat exposed at SS, but Lindor, barring injury, is going to play 155-160 games anyway. 4) Vogelbach - Another distinct possibility. Can only play DH and the occasional spelling of Alonso at 1B (though it seems they prefer Canha there - and I'm sure Escobar can cover a spot start at 1B as well). They do need the lefty bench option, but with a starting line up that includes McNeil, Nimmo, Lindor and Baty, and Escobar (S) on the bench, not sure it's as urgent for a limited player. In their shoes, I am probably choosing Guillorme. Based on the VERY slow official announcement, I'm guess Escobar who they are working the phones to try and move rather than just release. |

If Guillorme has options left, he would make the most sense at the moment....might not be fair to him, but we're kind of covered in the infield...plus, he could be a valuable tutor for both Mauricio and Vientos, as far as preparing for a positional/utility move to the majors...
