Mets announce details for fans attending Games 3 and 4 at Citi Field

If you’re going to Citi Field today or tomorrow, this information might be helpful.

GATE TIMES: Gates to Citi Field will open at 2:30 p.m. ET.



TRANSIT AND PARKING: With capacity crowds expected, the Mets encourage fans to take mass transit or rideshare services and arrive early to enter the ballpark. Parking will be limited and available parking spaces will run out quickly. Citi Field is just a short subway ride from Midtown Manhattan and most NYC points on the 7-train, including extra trains back to Manhattan after the game. Citi Field parking lots will open at 1:30 p.m. ET. Mass transit is the fastest way to Citi Field.



METS BLOCK PARTY: There will also be a Mets Block Party before both games beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET until first pitch. The Mets Block Party will continue postgame for an hour after the game. The Mets Block Party will include a DJ, appearances by Mr. & Mrs. Met and Mets Alumni, and performances by The Queens Crew. For more information on the Mets Block Party visit, Mets.com/BlockParty.



SECURITY: All fans will be required to go through security when they enter Citi Field. Fans are encouraged to enter the ballpark early to avoid long lines and not miss a pitch.  Please note that backpacks are prohibited inside Citi Field.



RALLY TOWELS: All fans in attendance for both games will be given a Mets Rally Towel upon entry, courtesy of NewYork-Presbyterian.



CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH: On Tuesday, Mets Hall of Famer Keith Hernandez will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch to fellow Mets Hall of Famer John Franco. On Wednesday, 2015 NL Championship Series MVP Daniel Murphy will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch. The Mets encourage fans to be in their seats by 4:30 p.m. ET for the special moment. 



NATIONAL ANTHEM: On Tuesday, recording artist Chloe Lowery will perform the National Anthem. On Wednesday, Lissa deGuzman of the hit Broadway musical Wicked will perform the National Anthem.



WATCH AND LISTEN: Please note the first pitch for both games is scheduled for 5:08 p.m. ET. It will be televised exclusively on FS1. Mets Radio will broadcast the game on Audacy 880 AM.  



NEW CITI FIELD MENU ITEMS: Mets fans will see additions to the menus at Anne Burrell’s Italian Eats and Wok N’ Roll. The Mets will also be adding a new portable called Walk-Off Café, as well as a specialty cocktail available at all bars.  



New additions include:   



Anne Burrell’s Italian Eats: Loaded Sausage & Pepper Waffle Fries – Seasoned waffle fries topped with stracciatella cheese, sausage ragu and caramelized peppers and onions 



Wok N’ Roll: Verrazano Egg Roll – breaded chicken cutlet, mozzarella cheese with homemade vodka sauce in an egg roll; Burger & Fries Egg Roll – beef hamburger, American cheese, French fries, pickles, onions and ketchup in an egg roll; Cinnamon Roll Egg Roll – fresh baked cinnamon roll with vanilla icing in an egg roll 



Walk-Off Café: 20 fresh baked chocolate chip cookies served in a souvenir Mets bucket, as well as coffee and hot chocolate 



Specialty Cocktail: Blue Rally Punch – Reyka vodka, lemonade, blue curacao served with an orange wheel in an exclusive baseball souvenir cup

NEW YORK -- When Jeff McNeil landed on the injured list with a fractured right wrist in early September, he knew it would take the New York Mets making a deep playoff run to play again in 2024.



"I would say if you see me on the field again, that's a really good thing," McNeil said at the time.



That really good thing has happened for the Mets, who have advanced to the National League Championship Series. Now it's a matter of whether McNeil will join them, and it's looking likely.



Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said McNeil will play games in the Arizona Fall League on Friday and Saturday. The plan is for McNeil to compile at least four plate appearances and play at least seven innings in each game. If that goes well, McNeil will be considered for the Mets' NLCS roster ahead of Game 1 on Sunday.



"That's the goal," Mendoza said, "so that he could go back-to-back and get that volume and being on his feet and ups and downs and playing a full game."



The Mets had to petition Major League Baseball to allow him to play in Arizona Fall League games because of Hurricane Milton's impact on the organization's spring training facilities in Port St. Lucie, Florida.



McNeil was the Mets' primary second baseman during the regular season before he was hit by a pitch Sept. 7. He started 95 games at the position, but he also made 22 starts between left and right field. McNeil, the NL batting champion in 2022, posted career lows in batting average (.238) and on-base percentage (.308) with 12 home runs in 472 plate appearances this season.



Jose Iglesias became the Mets' everyday second baseman once McNeil went down. The veteran is batting .348 with a .789 OPS in 29 games between the regular season and the playoffs in the role.



Without McNeil, the Mets had rookie Luisangel Acuña on their National League Division Series roster. McNeil could take Acuña's roster spot if New York decides to carry 13 pitchers and 13 position players again in the NLCS, but Mendoza acknowledged the club is considering carrying one fewer pitcher. That would allow the Mets to have both McNeil and Acuña on the roster.

that's just insane...and the media whines when crowds aren't full houses in the playoffs...what common fan can afford to pay that kind of money...celebrities, corporate accounts and rich people only at that price
