So it’s been announced officially that it will be Mets/Phils in London on 8th and 9th of June 2024 (I’ve known unofficially for about 2/3 months).
Anyone coming over for it?

Tempted to do a birthday (June 6th) weekend out there. We've never been to London and have talked about it as a place to visit. Any idea when tickets would go on sale and where you'd buy them from?

I won't be since I don't travel much, but I wonder if my son in law and my daughter might go over; or at least have his family watch it...
Are you going to watch the Cards/Cubs games this weekend? MLB.tv and MLB Network are hyping up the series with David Eckstein and a few other retired former major leaguers going to various areas in the UK doing Play ball clinics for kids...Eckstein said yesterday that they had over 300 kids show up for their clinic in Cardiff, Wales and over a thousand kids show up for their clinics in London.

Didn't realize it until you said it, but that happens to be the same weekend as my daughters' birthday (as in plural)...that would be a unique birthday gift from my one daughter's husband to take her to a Mets game in London... |

Unfortunately not - we live about 200 miles from London and would normally get the train down and the station we go into is closed so would mean a 4+ hour train journey each way (normally about an hour and a half).
We already have a hotel booked (cancellable) in London for the weekend as I should be able to get tickets for workout day next year.
Yeah, there were clinics in Cardiff, London, Sheffield and somewhere else.
Most people have got tickets from Ticketmaster and stubhub but they’re not on yet. Will keep an eye out and let you guys know if I hear anything

I think that it's a good idea...looking forward to the series...not sure that this far into the season is the best timing but, maybe it will derail the phillies a little bit before we play them again

I remember when the Mets started the season in Tokyo...games were on something like 4 am here...me and my son watched the games before he went to school in the morning...it was pretty cool

so gimmicky. Give them an exhibition game. Don't love the idea of needing 5 days to play 2 games. Granted, I'm sure our BP needs the rest, but at some point, the team is going to have to make up the missed 2 games (I think it was part of the reason they had that torrid stretch of no days off, but because of early season rainouts, they haven't played more games than other teams)

Salvaged one with a little help from the usually dominant Phillies BP. Split was all I was hoping for from red-hot Phillies, just wish we got there with a little less stress, haha.
Crazy to be 8 games under .500, and to not be buried in the WC. Hopefully, this win leads to a relaxed flight home, and then we can take care of some marlin business!

I was away for the weekend so I couldn't watch all of it live...watched parts of the beginning of the first game...watched the inning where things fell apart (Marte said that he couldn't see the ball...and Bader said that he lost at least one fly ball as well Saturday)
What a finish to the 2nd game though...never heard of this catcher but Nido has got to be expecting to get sent back to AAA tomorrow
